Description: Five of my “Black Madonna” pastel paintings were included in ”The Black Madonna Exhibition” that made a nation-wide tour of Civil Rights Museums and landmarks (2005-2008). Several of my pieces, including this one, were sold. This piece was inspired by media reports of the police shooting of unarmed Amadou Diallo as he was entering his own home. His mother ran out to see her dying son: Pietá!
